Community Respite & Young People Centre
Resource Gate respite gives people with learning disabilities the chance to enjoy supported trips out to visit parks, museums, theatres, exhibition centres, seaside resorts, shopping, attending learning centres or just to see their families or friends.
Resource Gate respite is a community-based service providing unrivalled outreach support packages to vulnerable individuals, young persons and adults in the community.
Our young persons centre is located very close to Luton Town Centre and serves as a hub where children can interact and engage in recreation & education on the website.
Our work with clients includes:
- Providing respite care support to families of children with autism, ADHD & other forms of disabilities.
- Supporting the individual to access local facilities, promoting inclusion within their community
- Supporting clients to develop and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals, families and friends
- Enhancing the quality of life for the individual by helping them to work towards their agreed goals and ultimate independence
- Supporting the individual to access their chosen leisure activities and centres such as gym classes, museums, zoos, snooker, swimming, and many more
- Encouraging the individual to learn and acquire valuable life skills such as money skills, socialising with others, travel skills, cooking skills
- Supporting our clients to explore voluntary or paid job opportunities to boost their self-esteem
- Supporting young persons to attend their learning centres
